iSwish puts the iPhone UI on any Windows Mobile phone

While you can argue that Windows Mobile is feature-for-feature and spec-for-spec superior to OS X on the iPhone, Apple’s mobile UI is certainly more fun to use. So if you’re running WinMo with a hankerin’ for rubber band-like scrolling, jiggly icons, screen flicking, SummerBoard themes, and even simulated multi-touch pinching of photos then you’re in luck. Flick Software Research is set to release its iSwish interface and iZoom pinch software in beta come “early May. See the action after the break. Citeste mai departe »

Samsung Phones: B200 and B110

Samsung expanded its line-up of affordable handsets with two new models: B200 and B110, recently showcased at an event in Singapore, along with other handsets that were
previously announced.

Both B200 and B110 have very basic features, like all of the B-series Samsung phones (B510, B300 or B100), and apparently they will be available only across Asia. Even so, the new handsets can reach high sales, especially if launched on emerging markets, where there’s a high demand for basic (hence cheap) phones. Citeste mai departe »

Real Time Traffic Information On Nokia Maps

Nokia announced that it has partnered with ARC Transistance, the leading network of automobile clubs in Europe, in order to bring Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) to mobile users who own Nokia handsets. The new service will be integrated into Nokia Maps 2.0, as a “premium offering”, as well as in the future versions of Nokia’s mapping application.

With Real Time Traffic Information, drivers will be alerted of various road hazards that might appear during their journey(s). The driver’s phone, with Nokia Maps installed, receives road updates as they occur, from ARC Transistance, and the Maps can automatically lead to a change in route if necessary (in case of traffic jams, accidents, road constructions etc), offering other navigation options.

Pic of the Nokia 6205

The Nokia 6205 will be an entry-level handset exclusively for Verizon Wireless. There is not much known information about the Nokia 6205 just yet, although the handset will reportedly feature 1x data and no EV-DO, external music controls, and basic VGA camera with flash. Since the images on the screen look small, Phone Arena surmises that it probably doesn’t have QVGA resolution. In all, the clamshell Nokia 6205 seems to be a very basic low-end phone.

,

The second generation iPhone is coming for sure in June. Foxconn are assembling according to the Chinese Commercial Times. They are expected to produce 3 million 3G iPhones in June only and it’s estimated they will manufacture 24 million by the end of this generation’s life cycle.

Despite all that, there’s no official announcement. Everyone is waiting for Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2008 (WWDC 2008) in June and everyone is counting on this 3G iPhone to be finally produced. For now Foxconn are the only manufacturers of the first generation iPhone.
